Wipro Limited (Western India Palm Refined Oils Limited) was founded in 1945. However in 2013, Wipro diverged itself into separate companies to bring in more focus on independent businesses. During the 1970's and 1980's, the company shifted its focus to new opportunities in the IT industry. And in 1982 it officially became emerged in that specific industry. After making some partners like Royal Dutch telecom, General Electric, and Designate, Wipro became the first software technology and services company in India to certified for IS0 14001 certification in 2002.
